Accommodation

The accommodation will be arranged in Zi Jing Yuan Hotel, which is located on the campus of Sun Yat-sen University, and is near the South Gate of the university. All hotel rooms have free internet connection. See the registration form in Registration page for more details of the hotel rooms.

The following are instructions on the routes to Zi Jing Yuan hotel.

From Guangzhou Airport to Zi Jing Yuan Hotel

The most convenient way is taking taxi. Here is a friendly card for you to show to the taxi driver, who will take you to Zi Jing Yuan hotel directly. The approximate fare is around 150 yuan (16 Euro), including a toll. It normally takes 40-50 minutes from the airport to Sun Yat-sen University.

To save money, first take the airport express Line 6B to Guangzhou New Pearl River Hotel (costs 23 yuan), and then take a taxi to Zi Jing Yuan Hotel (costs around 10 yuan). The airport express starts from 5:30 am to 21:00 pm every 20 minutes. If you choose this way, it may take 60-90 minutes in all from the airport to the hotel.

The most economic way is by metro. It costs 13 yuan and takes nearly 70 minutes from the airport to Sun Yat-sen University. But note that metros are not operated for 24 hours. Here is the time table for each line. You should first take Line 3 from the airport to "Tiyu Xilu" (体育西路) and then transfer to Line 8 at "Kecun" (客村) Station. Get off at "Sun Yat-sen University" (中大) Station and then follow From Sun Yat-sen University Metro Station to Zi Jing Yuan Hotel below.

From Railway Stations to Zi Jing Yuan Hotel

The most convenient way is by metro. It costs 4-5 yuan and takes 20-30 minutes from the railway stations to Sun Yat-sen University. But note that metros are not operated for 24 hours. Here is the time table for each line.

If you depart from Guangzhou East Railway Station, you should first take Line 3 and then transfer to Line 8 at "Kecun" (客村) Station. Get off at "Sun Yat-sen University" (中大) Station and then follow From Sun Yat-sen University Metro Station to Zi Jing Yuan Hotel below.
If you depart from Guangzhou Railway Station or Guangzhou South Railway Station, you should first take Line 2 and then transfer to Line 8 at "Changgang" (昌岗) Station. Get off at "Sun Yat-sen University" (中大) Station and then follow From Sun Yat-sen University Metro Station to Zi Jing Yuan Hotel below.

You can also take a taxi directly from the railway stations to Zi Jing Yuan hotel. It costs 30-50 yuan, depending on the traffic conditions. Here is a friendly card for you to show to the taxi driver.

From Sun Yat-sen University Metro Station to Zi Jing Yuan Hotel

After getting off metro at Sun Yat-sen University station, leaving the station from Exit B and you will see a small gate on the left out of the exit, which is West Side Gate of Sun Yat-sen University. Enter the gate and turn right. Zi Jing Yuan Hotel is about 600 meters ahead. Here is a map of the campus on which the route from the west side gate to the hotel is marked.

Notes:

The metro gives English announcements both over loudspeakers and on display monitors at each stop, reminding you to get off. So you will not miss your destination.
Metro tickets are only sold at auto-selling ticket machines. Coins are acceptable in all machines. 5 yuan or 10 yuan notes are also acceptable in most of them. You can exchange notes for coins at service counters.
You needn't to go out of the terminal of the airport or the Guangzhou Railway Stations to take metro. There are entrances inside. There is also an entrance inside on the way out to the exit of Guangzhou Railway Station. But sometimes it is not open, then you have to go out and walk 50 meters ahead, where an alternative entrance to Metro is available.
