FMS International Visitor Program in Mathematics 2005-2006:FUNCTION SPACES ANDDIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS |

The topic of the Finnish Mathematical Society (FMS) Visitor program 2005-2006 is Function spaces and differential equations. The program consists of visits by foreign mathematicians to Finland, and of conferences and seminars in various Finnish Universities during the academic year 2005-2006. The idea of the program is to provide a stimulating atmosphere and an inspiring working environment for the visiting researchers and Finnish scientist, working in functional and complex analysis and differential equations. The program is also expected to extend the existing Finnish research to new, internationally central and active areas. Topics include analytic function spaces on nontrivial domains (several complex variables, Riemann surfaces, Clifford-analysis); recently discovered connections of Fourier-analysis and meromorphic functions; general theory of nonlinear parabolic partial differential equations; algebraic nonlinear differential equations (formal theory, Painleve equations). The Visitor Program is sponsored by the Academy of Finland, the Niilo Helander Foundation, the Väisälä Foundation of the Finnish Academy of Sciences and Letters, the Rolf Nevanlinna -instituutin Tukisäätiö, and by the Joensuun Yliopiston Tukisäätiö. A mathematician interested in participating the program is asked to contact some member of the Program committee or other organizer. PROGRAM COMMITTEE
