There are 4-5 daily flights by Finnair from Helsinki to Joensuu. From the Joensuu airport there is a bus transportation after every flight to the city center. The fee is about 5 eur.

There are usually 4 daily direct train connections from Helsinki to Joensuu, and also 2 daily trains from Turku to Joensuu. See VR, the Finnish Railways for the schedules.
